Prof. Ravi Kant from the University of Helsinki visited the Medical University of Gdansk (GUMed) in April. Prof Kant is a member of the Viral Zoonoses Research group at the Finnish university. The visit was aimed at strengthening cooperation between the units by signing a letter of intent.
During the meeting, the possibility of jointly applying for international grants from Horizon and the European Research Council was discussed. The possibility of exchanging academic staff and jointly organising educational courses for students at both universities was also raised.
The University of Helsinki is a world-class Finnish university. Its academic community consists of more than 40,000 students and staff. It also has several independent research institutes and multidisciplinary research networks and field stations.
