The special purpose vehicle of Gdańsk University of Technology Excento and the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone have signed a cooperation agreement under which the Protolab II prototype facility will be built in the Gdańsk Science and Technology Park.
The equipment of Protolab II will complement the equipment available in the first Protolab at the Gdańsk University of Technology. It will include lathes, milling machines, cutters and an FDM printer. Users will be able to use a lab independently, e.g. first create components, and then construct a robot prototype, using the capabilities of both laboratories.
– By expanding Protolab, we will create a system that is friendly to the development of new technologies and original engineering projects. The Protolab II laboratory will be a fully equipped technical workshop, enabling the construction of prototypes using wood and metal processing as well as 3D printing – says Krzysztof Malicki, president of Excento.
