Professor Igor Konieczny from the intercollegiate department of biotechnology of the University of Gdańsk and the Medical University of Gdańsk will be the manager of the project “Conditional activation of proteases for targeted proteolysis in regulation of DNA replication”.

The project received a grant within the TEAM program competition of the Foundation for Polish Science. The amount of co-financing is almost PLN 3.5 million.

In this year’s TEAM program, co-financing of research projects with a total value of nearly PLN 45 million will be received by thirteen winners, selected from among 60 candidates. The rewarded researchers will carry out their projects in cooperation with a total of 38 foreign and 12 Polish scientific partners.

Funds obtained from the Foundation will allow to finance 44 workplaces for scientists employed in projects and over 39 scholarships for young scientists (students and PhD students) involved in the implementation of research.
