Gdansk scientist honoured with British Parasitological Association medal

By decision of the Board of the British Parasitological Association, Dr Maciej Grzybek, Professor of the Medical University of Gdańsk from the Department of Tropical Parasitology 13 received the President’s Medal – the highest scientific honour for young scientists awarded in the UK in the field of parasitology. 

The award is only presented in years in which, in the opinion of the Society, an exceptional and inspiring candidate is nominated. The award panel recognised Prof. Grzybek’s scientific achievements and contributions to the discipline, as well as the interdisciplinary and international nature of his research.

Prof. Grzybek focuses on the role of wild rodents in the transmission of diseases that threaten human and animal health. During the decoration ceremony, he presented the main domain of his research in a lecture. He also shared the principles that guide his scientific and teaching work, urging younger members of the Association to collaborate extensively internationally.
