Dr Jacek Kot, head of the National Center for Hyperbaric Medicine, GUMed participated as an invited lecturer at the annual scientific conference “Asian Hyperbaric and Diving Medicine Association (AHDMA)” in Bangkok.
During the conference, Dr. Kot presented three plenary lectures: “Intensive care and HBOT”; “Pre-conditioning of divers and accelerated decompression” and “Extreme recreational diving”.
The Gdańsk scientist presented physiological and medical aspects of diving in hard-to-reach places (in the mountains, in caves), to extreme depths (exceeding 300 meters), using different types of diving equipment (open circuit, closed circuit).
The conference gathered representatives of most Asian countries with the exception of China and Japan, which have their own national scientific societies and do not participate in joint international conferences.
