The article of the scientists from the Medical University of Gdańsk “Immunophenotyping and transcriptional profiling of in vitro cultured human adipose tissue derived stem cells” was published in the journal “Scientific Reports”.

The work was conducted under the direction of Dr Michał Pikuła from the Laboratory of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine of the Department of Embryology and Dr. Arkadiusz Piotrowski, Prof. Medical University of Gdańsk from the Department of Biology and Pharmaceutical Botany. It presents an extensive evaluation of the phenotype and molecular profile of in vitro grown fat adipose stem cells.
Stem cells are an extremely promising material for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. They have the ability to transform into other cell types, immunoregulatory abilities and are an important model for the study of new drugs.
