For the second time, the Gdansk University of Technology has been ranked among the world’s best universities in terms of sustainability and environmental protection. In the UI GreenMetric 2023 ranking, it was ranked 1st in Poland and 197th in the world.
The UI GreenMetric ranking examines the university’s commitment to environmental issues (including infrastructure, transport, water and electricity consumption, waste management, climate and environmental care). The richness of the educational offer and research activities undertaken in the area of sustainable development is also an important consideration for the organiser.
Similarly to last year, the Gdansk University of Technology was followed by the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszow and the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. The UI GreenMetric 2023 ranking was topped by three universities from Europe: Wageningen University & Research from the Netherlands, Nottingham Trent University from the UK and Umwelt-Campus Birkenfeld from Germany.
