Gdańsk University of Technology joined the IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence – an international organization whose aim is to improve the quality of international and national rankings of universities.

– Once again, we are glad that not only the fact that we are one of the oldest universities in the country has been noticed, but also that we lay great emphasis on maintaining high standards of education – says Prof. Jacek Namieśnik, the rector of the University of Technology.

The IREG Group (International Ranking Expert Group) met for the first time in 2002, in 2009 it was transformed into a global non-profit organization. IREG Observatory cooperates with rating organizations, universities and entities interested in raising the quality of university rankings.

In addition to the Gdańsk University of Technology, the group also accepted the University of Business and Technology in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) and the Silesian University of Technology.
