Gdańsk University of Technology (GUT) has advanced in international rankings and is the second Polish university that is the most involved in environmental issues.
The university took second place among Polish universities in the GreenMetric 2020 ranking. The ranking compares involvement in natural environment issues – infrastructure, taking care of the climate and the environment, transport, water and electricity consumption and waste management. Among 912 universities, GUT moved from position 247 to 231.
The Gdańsk university also advanced from 108th to 89th position in the Emerging Europe and Central Asia University Rankings, published by the British QS ranking organization. The university was also included in the pilot version of the EngiRank engineering studies ranking. In the first list, the jury assessed 81 universities from the so-called New Europe – countries that joined the European Union in 2004 and beyond – the university took 12th position.
