Gdańsk University of Technology has signed a five-year cooperation agreement with Xidian University. During their stay in China, the rector and vice-rector of the Gdańsk university started talks with four other universities and took part in the conference University Alliance of the Silk Road in Xi’an.
Professor Jacek Namieśnik, rector of the Gdańsk University of Technology and Prof. Janusz T. Cieśliński, vice-rector for organization met the authorities of the Harbin Institute of Technology, of Shaanxi Normal University, of Chang ‘an University and of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. The talks ended with declarations of willingness to start cooperation.
The rectors of the Gdańsk University also participated in the international conference University Alliance of the Silk Road – associating 135 universities from 36 countries of the non-governmental institution, which aims to internationalize higher education, and stimulate the economic development of the countries associated with the Silk Road Economic Belt.
