Dr Roland Ryndzionek, Eng. from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Automation, and Dr Dawid Ryś, Eng. from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the Gdansk University of Technology, have won grants in the Leader competition of the National Centre for Research and Development.
Dr Roland Ryndzionek obtained almost PLN 1.5 million for the design and construction of a high-performance wind turbine based on a slow-speed gearless, multi-phase, doubly-fed induction generator. In the project, a prototype generator will be built in a five-phase version and laboratory and synthetic tests will be carried out.
Dr Dawid Ryś won almost PLN 1.5 million for an interdisciplinary project combining the fields of road engineering, vehicle mechanics and computer science, ‘High-accuracy weighing system for vehicles in motion’. Such systems are able to select potentially overloaded vehicles, which are then routed for closer inspection.
