Two diploma theses, presented at the Warsaw University of Technology (PW), were awarded in the first competition organized by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways.
In the Traffic Engineering and Road Safety Solutions category, the first place was taken by Wojciech Margol – the author of the engineering thesis “Design of a visual identification system for vehicle types”. The work was created at the Faculty of Automotive and Construction Machinery Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology.
The second place in the Road Engineering Objects category was received by Adam Kasprzak for his MA thesis “The influence of seasonal temperature changes on the backfilling ground in an integrated bridge”. The work was carried out at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology. This category was won by Michał Kij from the Gdańsk University of Technology for his master’s thesis “Analysis of the stress state in the extreme cross member of the E5 flyover in Konin, made in the longitudinal slide-on technology”.
The third category, Road materials and technologies was won by Michał Wróbel from the Lublin University of Technology, who is the author of the work “The influence of modifiers obtained from ecological raw materials on the properties of bituminous binders”.
