The location system called ” Method of finding positions of objects, in particular humans, and human positioning equipment” is an invention of scientists Michał Meiny and Dr Krzysztof Rykaczewski from the University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Torun who won the Gold Medal of the INNOVA 2018 Inventiveness Fair in Valencia. The invention was constructed for supporting fire services.
The invention of Torun scientists was implemented as part of the project “KUBUS – Commercialization of University Research and Services” run by the Academic Business Incubator of the Nicolaus Copernicus University within the program of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education “Incubator of Innovation +”.
The location system has been designed to support fire services and taking into account the specificity of work during rescue and firefighting operations. Determining the position of firefighters in real time increases the safety of the rescue team and provides better coordination of fire-fighting activities – informs the University of Toruń.
