Karol Drobniewski, a graduate of the Architecture of Cultural Spaces at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, has won the TUP 2022 Grand Prize in the competition of the Society of Polish Town Planners.
His award-winning publication was written as part of his master’s thesis “Productive Cities in a Local Perspective. An urban and architectural concept for the area of the former Railway Repair Plant in Gdañsk Przeróbka”.
The Society of Polish Town Planners (TUP) was founded in 1923 by a group of eminent artists and scientists, as well as social activists, gathered around the Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology. Today, the Society has about 1000 members in over a dozen regional branches and problem sections.
TUP is an advocate of the public interest in the development and use of Polish space. It is a social and civic organisation, open to all persons who, through their activities, knowledge, and skills, improve the quality of Polish space.
