Jacek Kamiński, a graduate of the Poznań University of Technology won the competition for the best MA thesis of TAURON Dystrybucja – informs the university on its website. The main prize was awarded for the work “Optimal power distribution in a solar-wind power plant with energy storage”.
Jacek Kamiński developed the concept and made the software implementing the process of optimization of the hybrid structure of the solar-wind power plant with the energy storage. He also conducted optimal distribution of power in objects with a specific 24-hour load profile.
The use of renewable energy sources in combined hybrid systems with storage can solve one of the biggest problems of modern energy – a continuous increase in demand for electricity with scarcity of conventional sources. Hybrid systems can accumulate surplus energy when demand is lower than the current level of production and return it when demand exceeds this level.
