Jarosław Czerepowicki – a graduate of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń – created an application in which he described nearly 100 sacral objects. “Atlas of Gothic churches of the Chełmno Land” has been created as part of the master’s thesis.
The work of the environmental geoinformation graduate consists of a comprehensive descriptive part and an interactive web map with object cards. The study presents 97 sacred buildings in the Gothic style, located in the historical borders of the Chełmno land.
Photographs and descriptions of objects were made using field exploration, conversations with residents, literature study of the subject, queries in monuments’ registers and collected information from websites of parishes, dioceses and other about monuments, tourism and sightseeing.
During the work on Atlas, an effective algorithm was created that can be used to perform other combinations, characteristics or presentations.
