Graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice have received a special award in the international competition for the design of an illustrated children’s book “Clairvoyants”. Oliwia Michniewska and Paulina Szuścik were honored for the diploma thesis “Sign to me!”.

“Sign to me!” is a series of games and books for children and parents to learn Polish sign language. The project is a combined bachelor’s degree in the illustration and visual information studio of the University of Katowice. According to the jury of the competition, the idea of ​​the authors is complete and logically organized – it includes a series of books and games as well as an application for learning Polish sign language.

– It is an attempt to connect deaf and hearing people, to reduce the communication barrier between deaf children and hearing parents. A great, very useful and substantively refined project for family fun and learning. It undoubtedly deserves to be developed and published.
