The Medical University of Silesia has received a special purpose grant from the City of Katowice for the operation of the University of the Third Age at the Faculty of Health Sciences. The money will allow for the organisation of additional cultural and special events and the diversification of workshops and lectures.
Thanks to the grant, workshops will be held on senior citizen safety, proper nutrition and the course of many diseases. An excursion to the Silesian Museum in Katowice and an outing to the Silesian Theatre, a popular science show at the Silesian Planetarium and a concert at the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice are also planned.
Several special events are also planned, such as a Women’s Day, an Easter meeting and a Christmas wafer meeting with the Choir of the Silesian Medical University in Katowice. Physical exercise workshops with physiotherapists and a medical first aid course are also planned.
