The research of scientists from the Center for Theoretical Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw has expanded knowledge of the quantum properties of matter. In the near future, their application will allow for the acceleration of the development of new technologies, such as quantum computers or super-accurate gravitational wave detectors.
Polish physicists, under the guidance of Prof. Kazimierz Rzążewski, participated in a pioneering experiment measuring the fluctuation of the number of particles in the Bose-Einstein condensate. The team of Prof. Rzążewski was responsible for the theoretical basis of the project, while the experiment was entirely carried out in Denmark.
– Together with the scientists from Denmark and Germany, we made a precursory measurement. We have opened the gate to a better understanding of statistical properties in cold atoms – said Prof. Rzążewski.
