The Council of the humanistic and social faculty of the University of Technology and Humanities in Bielsko-Biała has passed a resolution to initiate the first PhD dissertation in the 16-year history. Mateusz Żyła, a graduate of Polish philology, is a candidate to obtain a PhD degree in literary studies.

The subject of the dissertation proposed by the PhD student is: “Inspirations of Young Poland Literature in heavymetal lyrics (Miciński, Przybyszewski)”. Dr Ireneusz Gielata, Prof. Academy of Technology and Humanities is selected for a PhD promoter with the auxiliary promoter – Dr Tomasz Bielak. Both scientists are employees of the department of Polish philology at the humanities and social faculties of the Bielsko-Biała university.

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Technology and Humanities in Bielsko-Biała has the right to grant PhD titles in the humanities in the discipline of literary studies from November 2015.
