Minister of Education and Science Przemysław Czarnek attended the first inauguration of the academic year at the Nicolaus Copernicus Main School (SGMK) in Warsaw.
“The Nicolaus Copernicus Main School is to be that part of the Copernican Academy which, as a living monument to Nicolaus Copernicus, is the driving wheel of Polish science and therefore also a place where outstanding doctoral students, the future elites of the Republic of Poland, are educated”, said Minister Przemysław Czarnek at the inauguration.
According to him, SGMK today has 150 students, half of whom are MBA students and the other half are doctoral students who are beginning their doctoral studies.
SGMK is a public academic university operating under the auspices of the Copernicus Academy with the aim of educating new researchers and conducting scientific research and development work.
The university was established on the initiative of the Minister of Education and Science and integrates the activities of five colleges: Astronomy and Natural Sciences in Toruń, Medical Sciences in Olsztyn, Economic and Management Sciences in Warsaw, Philosophy and Theology in Kraków and Legal Sciences in Lublin.
