The innovative dryer developed as part of a consortium led by the Wrocław University of Life Sciences has won first prize from the Supreme Technical Organisation (NOT) – Wrocław branch. Students from the Wrocław university were also recognised in the same competition.
The grain and oilseed dryer is 14 metres high and cost over one million PLN. It was developed by the Araj company in Kąty Wrocławskie and installed at the Farmers’ Cooperative in the same village. Its greatest asset is its low environmental impact and very low energy consumption in the grain drying process. It was built thanks to funding from the BIOSTRATEG programme”.
The competition jury appreciated not only the economic effect of the dryer, which is ahead of ecological solutions in the European Union, but also the increased cleanliness of the drying process and the positive impact on the environment and the health of the local community.
