The Institute for Research on Education and Communication of the Silesian University of Technology took 2nd place in the National Competition “IDOL 2021” in the “Education” category in the Silesian Voivodeship. The project promotes units supporting people with sight disabilities.

The Institute educates and prepares teachers who work with children and young people with special educational needs. Its employees cooperate with organizations and foundations, and also jointly conduct initiatives for the environment of people with disabilities.

The competition is organized by the “Chance for the Blind” foundation. It distinguishes institutions, activities and units that take into account people with visual impairments. The awards are granted in 5 categories: “Idol of the environment”, “Media”, “Office open to the blind”, “Education”, “Institution / Institution of culture / Company”. The project is carried out in provincial, national and global stages.
