A Centre for Fire Safety and Acoustics will be established at the Ceramics and Building Materials Institute, which is part of the Łukasiewicz Research Network. The investment, will provide comprehensive research services for the building materials industry, including modular construction, in the full range of acoustics and fire safety assessment.
The aim of the investment is to create a research centre for innovative building materials in the field of fire safety and noise protection, which will respond to socio-economic challenges related to construction, particularly important for the country’s scientific, economic and innovation policy.
The research will cover the most important properties related to fire safety in construction, i.e. reaction to fire, fire resistance of walls and the degree of fire spread through external walls and roofs, as well as acoustics in terms of sound insulation and sound absorption.
