The Industrial Development Agency has donated PLN 15 million to the Institute of High Pressure Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The donation will be used by the Institute for the purchase of company Ammono, and thus the acquisition of technology for the production of crystals from gallium nitride.
– This example shows that science and industry, science and entrepreneurship can cooperate well with each other – said Deputy Minister of Science Piotr Dardziński.
It is important to us that globally recognized brands are created in Poland. We have all the resources for this, and above all, we have talented scientists. Gallium nitride is indicated as a breakthrough innovation in the field of optoelectronics and electronics – said Jadwiga Emilewicz, Minister of Entrepreneurship and Technology.
The plates cut from gallium nitride crystals can be used as substrates in the technology of Blu-ray or high-power LEDs for car lamps or current converters in hybrid and electric cars.
