The chancellors of the universities forming the Union of InnoTechKrak Universities including the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, the Cracow University of Technology (PK) and the University of Agriculture in Kraków have signed an agreement on the establishment of an Inter-University Water Research Centre.
The centre will focus its activities on one of the most important challenges of the 21st century, i.e. the rational management of water resources.
PK reports that the Inter-University Water Research Centre was established under the statutes of the InnoTechKrak University Association.
As part of the work undertaken by the joint unit of the three universities, research in the fields of hydrogeology, hydrogeochemistry and water management will be carried out.
The work aims to integrate measures to measure and monitor environmental water safety, pollution reduction, elimination of wastewater discharge and minimisation of the release of hazardous chemicals into the aquatic environment.
