From 17 to 19 October, the International Metrology Conference “New trends in metrology” was held in Lublin with the participation of almost 200 metrology specialists from Poland, Italy, Germany, England, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.
The conference was organised by the Lublin University of Technology and the Central Office of Weights and Measures as part of the task commissioned by the Ministry of Education and Science “Establishment and coordination of the activities of the Polish Metrology Union”. In addition to specialists in metrology, the event was attended by representatives of the Central Office of Weights and Measures, the Central Statistical Office, and the business world.
The thematic scope of the conference concerned the most important challenges facing contemporary metrology, in particular the expectations of industry in terms of specialised measurements carried out in compliance with the principles of digitisation of production.
Attended the conference, Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek announced further activities for the development of metrology. ‘We are prepared to continue supporting such projects, because without this it is difficult to talk about the development of Polish science’ he stressed.
