The Science and Research Center of Natural Sciences of the University of Szczecin invites participants on 27-29 June to the international workshop organized by the International Seabed Authority (ISA).

The meeting will initiate the process of preparing a framework and guidelines for Regional Environmental Management Plans in the areas of occurrence of polymetallic sulphides on mid-oceanic ridges, in particular in the areas covered by contracts. Representatives of ISA, contractors, scientists and representatives of non-governmental organizations dealing with the protection of the marine environment from around the world will take part in the workshop.

ISA is an autonomous international organization established by the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. It deals with areas of the ocean bed beyond the reach of national jurisdiction, with particular emphasis on areas with mineral deposits.
