The Ambassador of Iraq, Asaad Sultan Hachem Abogulal, paid a visit to the Medical University of Warsaw (MUW). He aimed to initiate cooperation between the Medical University of Warsaw and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Iraq including the creation of research teams composed of Polish and Iraqi scientists.

Ambassador Abogulal talked about the Iraqi initiative with the Rector of the Medical University of Warsaw, Prof. Zbigniew Gaciong. The meeting was also attended by the vice-rector for internationalization, promotion and development, Prof. Paweł Włodarski, vice-dean for the English Division of the Faculty of Medicine Dr Jacek Sieńko and the Chancellor of the Medical University of Warsaw, Wojciech Orzeł.

Ambassador Abogulal expressed the hope that more candidates from Iraq would apply for medical studies in Warsaw in the coming years. Currently, 11 Iraqi citizens are studying at MUW.
