The Centre for International Studies and Development at the Jagiellonian University (UJ) in Krakow has been awarded a Horizon Europe grant as part of a collaboration in an international consortium. The project ‘European Hub for Contemporary China’ (EuroHub4Sino) will receive funding of almost €2.5 million and will be implemented by 8 partners from 6 European countries.

The premise of the project is that the European Union (EU) should learn about and understand China not through the prism of other external sources, but from its own European perspective.

EuroHub4Sino aims to strengthen the EU’s capacity to better understand contemporary China by building on four interconnected and interdependent pillars, which include the development of a state-of-the-art digital platform to serve as a resource for the public to learn about China; the creation of an inclusive and diverse network that will make full use of the digital platform for collaborative research and communication activities; and the development of an innovative and sustainable business model to support the continuation of the work after the end of the project.
