The rectors of the Krakow University of Technology (PK) and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Poland – Akio Miyajima to talk on the scientific and technical cooperation of the Krakow University of Technology with Toyota.   

The talks focused on the possibility of extending the cooperation of the Department of Motor Vehicles with Toyota Motor Poland, as well as the use of hydrogen as a future energy carrier in transport. The ambassador was particularly interested in the achievements of the Department of Motor Vehicles in the field of hydrogen supply to internal combustion engines and research of vehicles equipped with fuel cells.

The Department of Motor Vehicles PK conducts innovative research on hydrogen engines used in some Toyota cars.

Currently, the Krakow University of Technology cooperates with four Japanese universities under the concluded cooperation agreements: universities of Gifu, Kochi, Kyushu and the Kitami Institute of Technology. The cooperation concerns joint research and the exchange of academic teachers and students.
