An air quality research station is being built on the campus of the Koszalin University of Technology. It is one of the first results of the PIONIER-LAB National Platform for the Integration of Research Infrastructures with Innovation Ecosystems project. The facility will be open to the public and the results of the measurements will be visible to everyone, including online.

“This is part of our policy of openness and building good relations with the environment. We are meeting the needs of the local community and showing that science is the greatest ally of progressive action. – says Dr Danuta Zawadzka, Professor of the university, Rector of the Koszalin University of Technology.

The measurement will include: sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide and other parameters, as well as the concentration level of certain substances in the air, including heavy metals: lead, cadmium, nickel and others. Criteria for plants include sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and ozone. The station will be equipped with a dust measurement module, which is of great importance.
