The Faculty of Humanities of the Koszalin University of Technology is inviting participants to the conference “Katyn massacre in the perception of the Polish community and international opinion” on 12th and 13th of November. Proposals may be submitted by September 10.
The organizers are proposing the following thematic blocks: The Katyn massacre in emigration journalism, the press and scientific activity; political initiatives of Polish refugees to explain and punish the perpetrators of the crime; The Katyn Massacre in the collective memory of Poles in Poland and in exile; and international opinion on the Katyn Massacre and its perpetrators.
The Faculty of Humanities of the Koszalin university is one of the leading research centers in the country researching various aspects of the crime. The scientific conference “NKVD crimes in the territory of the Eastern provinces of the Republic of Poland 1939-1956” was held in 1995 on the initiative of its staff. Since 2010, the scientists have been published source studies from the series “The Katyn Massacre in the Opinion of Polish Refugees in Great Britain 1949-1990”.
