As part of the Horizon 2020 program, the BEATS project was launched. It involves the construction of a line using “hard X-ray radiation for computed tomography” at the SESAME synchrotron in Jordan. Nine centers are involved in the project, including the National SOLARIS Synchrotron Radiation Center in Kraków.
These centers are to support the needs of Jordanian synchrotron in the field of research development and applied technology, mainly through scientific development and exchange of experience in the construction of a tomographic line and through activities strengthening the scientific environment.
The SESAME Synchrotron is an independent, intergovernmental organization whose members are institutions from Cyprus, Egypt, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Pakistan and Turkey. The mission of the center is to provide world-class research infrastructure in the region and to develop international scientific cooperation.
