The STARS EU European alliance, whose Krakow University of Technology (PK) is part of, has been awarded a grant of 12.4 million euros in the Erasmus+ Call 2023 European Universities competition for the next four years.

The alliance consists of nine European universities and is coordinated by Hanze University Groningen from the Netherlands. Kraków University of Technology is the only university from Poland to be part of STARS EU.

‘We are opening a new chapter in international cooperation’, said Vice-Chancellor for Science, Prof. Dariusz Bogdał, chief STARS EU coordinator at PK. ‘The awarded funds will allow us to face scientific and social challenges of the 21st century even more effectively’, he added.

STARS EU contributes to the implementation of the EU European University Initiative. This is an action through which the EU aims to create a European Higher Education Area. The EU encourages international alliances between different European universities to promote European values and identity, and to strengthen the quality and competitiveness of European higher education.
