From May 1, 2020, the State Higher Vocational School in Krosno will change its name to the Carpathian State Academy. The name change is enabled by the act on higher education and science.
-The new name is to emphasize the regional associations of the higher school – says the vice rector of the university Dr Dominik Wróbel. The change was not forced, but it is important for us to emphasize that we are an academy, not a school associated only with education. We are part of the academic world. It is also an academy, where young people can study for free, hence the “State” stands for a state support. Also, “Carpathian” is a reference to the region that is most important to us.
Stanisław Pigoń, a Polish literature historian from the Kombornia, will still remain the patron of the institution, although he will not be mentioned in the name of the university.
