Katarzyna Pańczyk, PhD student at the Pomeranian Academy in Słupsk, won the 13th Academic Forum Competition for a popular science article entitled “Complicated and simple. Young scholars about their research “. The honorary patron of the competition is Jarosław Gowin, Deputy PM and Minister of Science and Higher Education.
The second prize was won by Magdalena Kłodowska (Institute of Nuclear Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences), and the third – Dominik Szulc (Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences). Also Edyta Charzyńska (University of Silesia), Olga Kielak and Aksela Kobiałka (both from the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin) and Tomasz Skawiński (University of Wrocław) were awarded.
Congratulating the winners, Sebastian Skuza, deputy minister of science and higher education, expressed his hope that they would also be included for scholarships as outstanding young researchers. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Zbigniew Marciniak, the chairman of the Main Council of Science and Higher Education.
The prize founders and contest partners were Foundation for Polish Science and the Wydawnictwo Naukowe (Science Publishing House). (Kp)
