A new draft Law on the Łukasiewicz Research Network has been delivered to the parliament. The first version of the proposal was delivered to the Sejm a year ago. At that time, however, it did not pass the legislative procedures.
The new project assumes that a network of research institutions will be created in Poland, which will be subject to one central organization. As emphasized the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Łukasiewicz Center will be the coordinator of scientific and educational efforts. It will also develop a “procedure for providing specialist tools to external entities”, including enterprises, which will allow to build a bridge between science and business. The point is to change discoveries and scientific work into economic success.
The Łukasiewicz Research Network will cost PLN 25 million in the first year of operation and PLN 17.5 million per year in the next 10 years.
