Dr Agnieszka Kaczmarek, lecturer of the Faculty of Modern Languages at the State Higher Vocational School in Nysa, became a laureate of the five-month Fulbright Senior Award 2020 scholarship.

Thanks to the scholarship, Dr Kaczmarek will have the opportunity to conduct research on her project “Backpacks of their own: the perception of mountains, walking, and climbing in American women writers’ imagination since the 1960s”.

The main goal of the project is to deepen knowledge about the themes of American mountain literature presented by selected authors publishing their travel accounts in the second half of the 20th century. The grant will also enable the scholarship holder to expand their knowledge of cultural studies, which will certainly translate into the quality of her classes on American realism.
