Dr Magdalena Popowska from the faculty of management and economics, and architect Janusz Gujski from the architecture department of the Gdańsk University of Technology were awarded the Order of the Academic Palms. The honorable awards were granted by the decree of the Prime Minister of France and are honored to active members of the teaching community and people who contribute to the spread of French culture in the world.

Dr Popowska was honored for her contribution and commitment to the development of French-Polish relations in Gdańsk, her contribution to promoting French language and culture through long-term cooperation with French honorary consuls and the chairmanship of the Alliance Française Association in Gdansk.

Architect of the Chamber of Architects of the Republic of Poland Janusz Gujski was awarded for significant contribution to the development of education within the Polish-French academic cooperation and encouraging students to “open up to the world through participation in prestigious international competitions, including competitions organized in France”.
