The University of Szczecin and the Civic Development Forum invite participants to the open lecture of Dr Leszek Balcerowicz “Institutional systems and living conditions in the country.” The lecture will take place in the Prof. Przemysław Małek auditorium, at the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management.
The speaker will outline the role of political systems in creating conditions for economic development and life of the population of a given country, because state management systems are of great importance for the residents’ life in an economic context. It will also draw attention to the role of civic rights, the rule of law, economic freedom and democratic mechanisms in building well-being, because all these systemic variables are interdependent and equivalent.
Dr Leszek Balcerowicz is a specialist in economics, former president of the National Bank of Poland, deputy prime minister and minister of finance in the first non-communist government of Poland after World War II, Professor of Warsaw School of Economics.
