On Thursday, May 14, the Lodz University of Technology launched the 5G research network located on its campus. The construction of the network lasted from November 2019.

The project was implemented by the Digital Innovation Hub 5G – DIH5G associating: Institute of Communications – National Research Institute (leader), Lodz University of Technology as well as Ericsson and FundingBox.

The network’s inauguration ceremony was attended by: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Development Jadwiga Emilewicz, Minister of Digital Affairs Marek Zagórski and Sweden’s Ambassador to Poland Stefan Gullgren.

DIH5G is an ecosystem connecting technology suppliers and recipients within the 5G area, which provides intermediation between customer enterprises and technology suppliers as well as research and development centers.

In the future, DIH5G will provide small and medium-sized enterprises with access to specialized infrastructure enabling testing and validation of solutions using 5G technology.
