In September, the Lodz University of Technology will start to implement a new international project Mixed Reality on Universal Design’s Secret Service. It combines the experiences of five teams from three countries: Poland, Portugal and Estonia and focuses on the issue of universal design.
According to the project’s idea, it is assumed that all new products and services should be designed to not to cause difficulties for any person, regardless of their disability, age, gender or other obstacles. The target group of the project are professional design professionals.
The level of awareness and knowledge about designing a universal and empathetic approach is an area that needs improvement. Hence, the main task of the teams working in the project will be to increase the competences of future engineers, educators and designers in this area – explains the project coordinator, Dr Dorota Kamińska of the Institute of Mechatronics and Information Systems at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science and Automatics, TUL.
