Students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science and Automation of the Lodz University of Technology (PŁ) are working on early detection of bee diseases in colonies and on monitoring their living conditions. The project is called Smart Hives.
The innovative idea of PŁ’s students was qualified for the final of the Cisco Global Problem Solver Challenge competition. Everybody can vote for the project until July 31 at this link:
Smart hives is a comprehensive, innovative solution that allows to visualize a lot of information about bee houses including the temperature on individual floors of the hive, its weight, the level of air pollution, humidity in the attic of the hive, location and alerts about anomalies, such as diseases, swarming or an alarming lack of supplies in the hive.
