On the campus of the Lodz University of Technology, a pilot network of the new generation 5G will be created. This will allow scholars to conduct research that will show the benefits of solutions implemented in new generation systems and create the conditions for testing new services before commercial 5G networks start functioning.
The creation of the 5G pilot network was announced by Marek Zagórski, the minister of digitization, during his visit to the Łódź university.
– I believe that the scientific potential of employees and students is so large at the University that it is worth making the 5G technology that is to appear in Łódź would be strongly associated with the ideas that will arise here – said Minister Zagórski.
According to the assumptions, the 5G network will be launched by 2020 in at least one city in Poland, and in 2025 in all major cities and on main communication routes.
