The Department of Political Movements at the Faculty of Political Science of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin is organizing on 8-9 May 2019 a scientific conference entitled “Political Participation in the Modern World.”

The conference will be devoted to various forms of citizens’ participation in exercising power at the local and national level, in Poland and in the world. The speeches will concern electronic voting, the crisis of representative democracy, Brexit or the way of communicating with the voters by the US President Donald Trump.

Over 60 speakers will participate in the event, including scholars from the University of Warsaw, University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań, the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw.
