The Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek allocated PLN 1,357,500 to the Lublin University of Technology for the implementation of the task “Establishment and coordination of the activities of the Polish Metrological Union (PUM)”. 

The Ministry of Science emphasizes, that the main goal of the project is networking and positioning activities in Polish metrology, setting directions for research and development, promoting innovation and supporting staff development, organizing forums, conferences and congresses.

The creation of the PUM will allow for the integration, initiation and implementation of joint activities of many research centers and institutions in metrology and measurement techniques.

The synergy of activities of metrological environments operating in these institutions will allow for the optimal use of their knowledge, experience and equipment resources. It will enable the implementation of tasks relating to various areas of social and economic life, in which measurement and its certainty play a key role – said Prof. Jacek Semaniak, President of the Central Office of Measures.
