Over 3,000 the concepts of functioning on the Red Planet were sent to the international competition Future Mars Life organized in China. Among the winners are students and graduates of Wrocław University of Science and Technology from the Innspace group.

Innspace group won the “Winner” and “Golden Winner” titles in the architecture category. The concept of “Ideacity” received the golden medal. It is a city on a hexagonal plan with a side of 400 m located mostly under the surface of Mars. Last year, the project was awarded in the American Mars Colony Prize

The second prize was awarded to another Innspace project – “Dome”. The colony building would make use of the significant diurnal temperature amplitude on Mars (reaching several dozen degrees). Under the influence of temperature changes during the day, the petal-shaped parts of the dome would turn towards the center of the base. In this way, it would give access to natural light and at the same time create a dome, allowing for additional base space protected from radiation.
