The cornerstone for the didactic building of the Medical Simulation Centre was ceremoniously laid at the Jakub z Paradyż Academy in Gorzów Wielkopolski. The Centre’s didactic building will have four storeys, with eight lecture theatres ranging in size from 48 to 76 sqm. The cost of construction is more than PLN 13 million.
The centre will replicate the real working conditions that future healthcare professionals will encounter. Students will be able to perform procedures on phantoms, realistically reflecting real patients. There will also be an ambulance simulator so that future paramedics can practise procedures inside a vehicle, reports the university.
“This is supposed to be such a small, high-class hospital, allowing all our medical students to be adequately prepared for work in real conditions, so this Centre cannot deviate from reality”, said the rector, Prof. Elżbieta Skorupska-Raczyńska, during the ceremony.
