The Medical University of Bialystok (UMB), the Chief Commander of the Police and the Central Forensic Laboratory of the Police will cooperate in the rapid identification of the bodies of victims of disasters and other events.
Vice-Rector for Clinical Affairs and Vocational Training, Prof. Janusz Dzięcioł emphasizes that establishing cooperation in this area enables UMB to conduct scientific activity, provide research services, as well as transfer knowledge and technology to the economy.
On the part of the university, the contract will be implemented by the Forensic Medicine Department, and on the part of the Police – by the Central Forensic Laboratory.
Sub-inspector Tomasz Krupa, spokesman for the Podlasie police explained, that this agreement is very important and that cooperation with the university will ensure the Polish police constant raise of the standards recommended by the Permanent Commission and the Monitoring Group of the International Criminal Police Organization – Interpol for the identification of victims.
